Notes from rebuilding a company around AI
What does it mean to make a company AI-native?
Almost everyone now has access to tools that would change how they work, and almost nobody is getting anything out of them.
I took BOSH! apart and put it back together around AI. Not a pilot: the work itself, the systems people use every day and the habits underneath them. I write down what I built, what it replaced, what broke, and what I would do differently.
What did Henry Firth build at BOSH!?
I wrote the agent stack, the data layer and the servers that connect them. Some of it worked straight away. A lot of it didn't, and the failures turned out to be the useful part.
What went wrong?
A lot of it didn't work straight away. The failures turned out to be the useful part, so I write down what broke and what I would do differently.
Why do most companies get nothing out of AI?
What they have been sold is hype or a demo, and nobody has shown them what it looks like on a normal Tuesday with real work in front of them.
Recipes for life
The other side of the work: food, health and the things that work when someone else follows them.
Recipes for life →I do this with other companies too
Getting a company AI-native, building the brain underneath it, and getting far more out of the same team. I've done it inside my own business, with my own money and my own team watching.
